Bill Byford posted a round-up of his week at Etang Le Fays on Fishingmajic along with picture of some of the fish caught. His write-up was for a trip in August 2004 but, I have only just found it.

Ian Breach (Gloucester) visited in April and wrote: - "Another good week but more pleased for my lad (Ricky) who had an excellent week. He followed the fish instead of sitting it out. After numerous visits, can't "BIG UP" the place more. Spot on fishery and hosts. Well done Mark and Clare. Nice house too but, still miss the tent!"

Chris stayed a week in April and said: - "Fantastic holiday. Awesome fishing and superb food. The wine ain't bad either!! Watch out for those Commons - The are Bionic! 15 x 20's and 3 x 30's. Thanks Mark and Clare."

Dave, Danny, Sean and Ryan Harvey sent us this in May after their trip: - "Hi Jean, Just a few lines to thank yourself, Mark & Claire for a fantastic week of fishing at your lovely lake at Etang Le Fays this was our 1st fishing trip to France the list of fish caught was out of this world 43lb, 40lb, 7 at 30lb + numerous 20lb + weight approximate 1000lb of carp, not bad for 4 novice anglers Mark & Claire have worked very hard to achieve such a high standard in the short time you have been open. The food was great, Mark & Claire were great hosts , we are all booking for 2006 and as you know I am back in September 2005. Once again we must thank you all for a great holiday. Dave, Danny, Sean and Ryan Harvey."

Dominic, Carl and Adam stayed a few days in May and wrote: - "I ain't going home! See you in September - Dominic" "Excellent, going to give up shooting to do more fishing - Carl" "Fantastic all round. Surely it couldn't be any better than this. Great fishing and service that is second to none. Thanks - Adam"

Also in May, Tom Harrison wrote: - "The best weeks fishing I've ever had. Broke my P.B. 3 times and had a brilliant time. Loads of thirties and a laid back atmosphere only makes me want to come back more. Also, a mention for the excellent food. Thanks"

At the end of June, Duncan wrote: - "Pukka food! Thanks Clare and Mark for an entertaining week. Lovely lake and fish. Well done fellas. Thanks for a new P.B."

In July after some seriously hot weather, an unsigned comment in the log book said: - "Fishing a bit slow this week but, a fantastic place. Mark and Clare are superb hosts and nothing too much trouble. Wouldn't look any further than this place if U want a good week in France." Thank you!

In August, Vern wrote: - "This was my first time fishing in France and it was all I hoped it would be. Caught some great fish, not a 50 though but, will return for that. Food and hosts were Top Draw. 10 - 10!!"

Shaun and Tom added: - "Far exceeded my expectations, great fishing, fantastic food, brilliant company. Clare and Mark have got it spot on. See you both next spring."

Later in August, Dave and Mick returned for another visit: - "Third time here, keeps getting better and better. Food and company superb. Can't wait to beat Mick on the 4th visit - Dave"

At the end of August Chris wrote: - "First time in France fishing, was really impressed, food was fantastic, had a great time. Hope to be back very soon."

Andy added: - "Also first time in France, food was excellent. Lovely weather and some good fish as well. Cheers Mark and Clare"

In September, Daren Burgess wrote: - " First trip to France, most impressed. Great hospitality, superb setting with good fish to boot. Great home cooked food. Can't wait to come back."

In October, three Dutch anglers stayed a few days: - "Thank you for a fine 4 days. The surroundings were very nice, caught some nice fish from 22lbup to 44lbs. One promise - we will come back because it was great!!!!!! - Jan and Roy Hemback & Lennard U/D Akken."
