On 16th April 2004, Ian Breach wrote: - "A good week, my 14 year old son had a 33lb mirror P.B. My mate, Jason, a 1st timer, had almost 20 fish, superb venue, picturesque, good people on lake and great hosts, will be back definitely. - Ian Breach"

Daryl sent his comments in April 2004: - "You’ve heard of The Great Lake, well you are there now. Great fishing, great people, food fantastic. Well done Claire. Mark would look better in a waitress uniform, black skirt & white pinny. Daryl"

Jon risked the wrath of his wife by saying: - "41lb 8oz first night + 30. Best fishing had to date. Clare & Mark fantastic hosts and the food is better than home. Photos to prove it to wife. All the best Mark & Clare. Will be back again. Jon."

Dave had a stunning week and wrote: - "Could not be made more welcome. Food brill, broke PB 3 times. Fish in perfect condition. Will be back (Top 32lb mirror) (270lbs over the week) Dave."

Dom, Danny and Carl wrote the following: - "I didn’t think it could get any better than last year with 7 PB’s in 48 hours, but to get 128lbs of fish on the bank in 20 minutes from three fishermen will take some beating. Sometimes you receive a letter that is so nice it just has to go on the web site.
Because Steve Burley is an expert in the field of Fish, Water and the Surrounding Environment, and has a considerable wealth of expertise in fishing on French owned lakes, we were excited that he chose our lake for his and his son Zachary’s first actual fishing experience on a lake owned by an English couple.
We were even more excited when he wrote to us and his letter is shown here!

On 20th July 2004, Colin Berry sent us this email :- "Dear All, I have recently returned from what I can only describe as the best two weeks fishing in France I have ever had! I cannot find the words to express my appreciation to everybody involved. But, what I can say is a big Thank You to all for allowing me to fish the little piece of French Heaven that is Mark and Clare's back garden. I had a great time and I can't wait to do it all again. Last September, when I saw the water for the first time I felt then that they had something special. This venture will succeed because they both believe totally in what they are doing. It is wonderful now and rest assured that I will be making another booking or two for myself next year and for as many years as I am able to fish this lovely water. Best Wishes, Colin"

Andy Robinson sent us this email on 1st September 2004: - "WOW........ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC WEEK (pity it persisted down most of it but really enjoyed the fishing and the food) broke my personal best 3 times with the best fish being a 33lb Mirror Carp. Really pi**ed the brother in law off (excuse French) by telling him how fantastic a place it is and how damn good Mark & Clare both are. I can't wait to get some more money so I can book again, honestly can't wait to rebook. You must both be very proud of them both, they really are doing a great job out there. Many thanks once again. Graham Harvey from Ashford in Kent wrote to us on 14th October 2004 to say: - "Dear Jean & Dave, I enclose the photos (four) for my 38lb Mirror from 23/09/04. Please pass on my thanks again to Mark, Claire (and Rory) for all their help making our holiday so much fun. They all work very hard all day to ensure everybody enjoys themselves and you didn't lie about Claires cooking - I think Martyn wants to go "Full Board" next time!
